too many androids? as i see it,
As I see it, there are two answers: yes, too many android phone brands or no, never too many.
On the one hand, WTF? Why would we, as a species, ever require more than a few brands of gaddam mobile phone? Jeez, what’s wrong with us?!
And yet: Free Market Capitalism, Baby!
So it’s kind of weird though: Android is kind of like PC. Used to have IBM & not many others. Now there are...

Are there too many Android phones coming into the...
I subscribe to a feed from a site called AndroidGuys and it gives me news about what’s happening in the android market these days.
The problem is, it seems almost DAILY I’m being told about 2-3-10 more devices coming to the market. That’s great! More power to you! You are activating more Android devices daily than Apple now and Apple probably will never get that market share...

Thoughts...
I should “blog” more
I should work a smidge harder
I should hit those weights like a man possessed
I should tell my wife I love her one extra time a day
I should give my kids two kisses when I go to work in the morning
I should strive to be better today than I was yesterday
and
I should stop saying should and say WILL!!!

Who's watching you?? →
You ever decide you won’t go to work, then post on Facebook that you are playing “hooky from work” because your boss isn’t a friend, how will s/he know?
Well if your profile is public, your boss can simply look to see what you have said.
BTW, this is the link for anyone who is “playing hooky from work”:...

Blue skies
As I approach the World Trade Center site, I looked up and saw beautiful blue skies and thought to myself, “Why do we HAVE TO build enormous buildings, why can’t we just enjoy looking up at the sky?”
Why?

When social media meets politics
Cory Booker’s been called a lot of things
CarpetBagger Outsider Cracker Suspect
but one thing you can’t call him…that’s naive and stupid.
Ask yourself this (esp. those in NYC), would your mayor answer a tweet, grab a shovel and go shovel a constituent’s sidewalk? http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2010/01/newark_mayor_cory_booker_shove.html
Now, yes I know, they say...

Today is a special day for me
Today us my wife last day of her last class in medical school. We’ve been through ups and downs and all in between.
We’ve been through blackouts, 9/11, living in a gated community, two kids, three dogs, no water, under grad and now medical school.
I’m so proud of my “Spank”, these few words can’t describe it.
Congratulations Kate for your hard work and your...

Vote for the best website template...
Ok folks, I’m going to be building a training site and narrowed my search down to two WordPress templates (I know I know, blog software yadda yadda yadda but @adriarichards helped me see the light….i’ll graduate to Drupal once time, education on the platform and funds are available).
So the candidates are:

The census still has the classification of Negro on it.
I wonder if they just overlooked putting ‘massa’ on the form too?
What is the cost of security? →
How much is this costing us?
Since the beginning of the NYC Subway system, there has always been talk of the possibility of there could be an attack of any kind on the subway system.
So what makes the attacks in Russia resonate with the administration of NYC and cause them to beef up security on the subway system?
Spending money we don’t have and to make people “supposedly”...

45 million stolen credit card numbers = 20 years... →
So what’s your opinion?
Is 20 years too much time or are they sending a message that if you hack and steal, it will not be tolerated.
So what do you think?
Are they making an example of this person? Will hackers become more brazen because the risk is now higher or will they back down?
Without a struggle, there can be no progress.

Lack of vision in Information Security
Corporate America is to blame for the horrible state of information security. Corporate America makes us robots and forces us into little boxes (cubicles to the unlearned) and punishes us for trying to think outside those walls.
That’s right, I said it!!!
Here’s what I’m getting at.
Too many InfoSec Managers (supervisors, Managers, Directors, VPs, EVP, CISO and CSO) play the...

My open letter to the President of the United...
Mr. President, I apologize!
I complained you had no spine. That you let Congress push you around. That you cow-towed to the GOP in the name of bipartisanship. That you were a “constitutional” president. That you should “get your balls out of your purse”. This article changed my mind (and people read it wall the way through to the end)...
Holy crap the phishing
Spreading across twitter is such a bad phishing attempt that I’m really not surprised people are falling for it.
A “friend” sends you a link and when you click on it, it takes you to a Twitter’esque page that requires you to log in. Well you don’t think much of it and you log in and bingo bango, someone’s got your credentials.
Man, this is going to be fun.
